Dairy King - Bowers Fancy Dairy Products is not to be missed. The award-winning curdsmen and -women stock international
cheeses alongside hand-dipped Cherry Glen chevre and Meadow Creek Dairy’s Grayson. “For years, it was the
only place chefs would go to stock up on cheese. They have everything.” On Your Market, Get Set, Eastern Market Secrets by Peter Smith, June 26, 2009
In the heart of Eastern Market, Bowers Fancy Dairy Products is
a largely unsung gem for cheese-lovers on Capitol Hill and throughout the District. If you haven't checked it out yet,
you definitely should! D.C. Foodies The Politics of Dining, Bowers Fancy Dairy Products at Eastern Market by Mike Bober, Oct 19, 2007
Gayot Guide Since 1969, restaurant, hotel, travel & other
witty reviews by a handpicked, worldwide team of discerning professionals—and your views, too.
An Eastern Market institution, Bowers has been selling quality cheeses since 1964. Its
selection includes hundreds of varieties of both domestic and imported cheeses flown in from around the world. You will find
the familiar, the lesser-known and the hard-to-get, including a large selection of French, Dutch and English soft and hard
cheeses. Raclette, used in the Swiss fondue dish, also is stocked. The attitude is down-home friendly, and domestic cheeses
are treated with the same care as the imported ones. Gayot, the Guide to the Good Life

With
such vendors as Bowers’ Fancy Dairy, the Eastern Market is one of the city’s best-kept secrets. Nothing compares
to Capitol Hill’s Eastern Market, where you can shop for fresh
vegetables and fruits, meats and cheeses, and pies and cookies. Arrive early for “Blue Bucks,” buckwheat pancakes
